London Fashion Weekend

This year I finally got round to going to the London Fashion Weekend, a smaller lower key event held as a follow up to London Fashion Week. Like the main event its also held at Somerset House and is most definitely a fun day out for anyone into fashion and styling or just looking to do something a little bit different. I managed to catch a couple of shows and had a walk around the various stalls they had available.

As usual it was as cold as ever in good old London meaning I really had to wrap up whilst still trying to get a little bit of glam in there. Chose this old All Saints maxi dress with a leather aviator jacket from H&M, suede gilet from New Look and bag from Primark.

The Saturday shows were presented by Zoe Hardman

The afternoon show I caught was based on four trends that had really dominated SS13 LFW. Put together by fashion icon Hilary Alexander, she pulled looks that she felt would be influencing and inspiring us this season.

Graphic Art

 Urban Lifestyle

Eastern Promise

Doll's House

A full run down of the trends can be found at the following link.

The Tony and Guy Fashion Fix  Hair Salon

Elizabeth Arden Spa Bar

The second show were of pieces and looks by Issa

I definitely have the bug for this now and can't wait to go again in Autumn.

Getting Over The Weather When Under The Weather

The one week I decide to take some time off is the one week my body decides to let it’s guard down and allow this vile cold that has been doing the rounds to descend upon me. But never one to be held down by these kind of thing I decided to dust myself down and get out of my flat for the day. Of course this meant making myself presentable to the world and not leaving looking like the snot and bile monster I had been portraying. Don’t think I did too badly and managed not to frighten off any small children.

Looking Cool Baby
So we are well into the midst of winter and with that brings out so many interesting styles. I love winter for this as for me it seems that so many more people make the effort with their style. My personal favourite has been wearing one of my almost ancient black suede gilets with my brown aviator leather jacket. Just put them on to see how it would look and absolutely loved it. Looks so good and was a look found purely by chance. So go on have a try. I dare you to just give a look a chance. May be it will work, maybe it won’t. But one thing’s for sure, you won’t know unless you try.
