A sax, some strings or just a tinkle on the old ivories all make for some of the best power ballads I've come to love. Not to mention the vocals of a crooner who literally sound like they're singing for their supper.
From the toes I say, from the toes.
You all know what I mean. Even if its not quite your cup of tea, everyone of us has that one power ballad that they just can't help but sing along to. Drunken or sober. With friends or by yourself, whenever it's played. It evokes such emotion or memories that it will never let you be. Well I have a whole repertoire of those little ditties. What can I say, I'm an absolute sucker for a power ballad. Especially it would seem, the rock power ballads of the 80s and 90s. My YouTube playlist has become quite a regular bedtime fixture. Eat your heart out Late Night Heart fm.
